Templemore Baths

Templemore Baths, based in East Belfast is the only working Victorian Bath House left in Ireland. Templemore Baths have been a huge part of the community since 1891 and hold much fascinating history. The Victorian Baths were in use until March, 2020, when the building closed for planned refurbishment to the heritage building. Established in 1891, the building is listed at Grade B+ by DoE Historic Environment Division giving it regional importance which reflects its architectural, cultural, social and historic merits.

The £17 million refurbishment and redevelopment of the project entailed restoring multiple original heritage features including the original baths, laundry room, swimming pool and slipper baths. There are an additional new six lane 25 metre swimming pool, spa facilities and gym complex. One of the original swimming pools remains with a glass floor placed over the surrounds for the public to witness what the original bath house looked like in 1891.

NUGENT were delighted to be working on the iconic building which has decades of history within Belfast. Our team of experts provided our MEP services alongside well established Main Contractors Heron Bros.
