We are pleased to have completed the MEP works for Marigold House which is a care home in Leighton Buzzard. NUGENT installed energy efficient systems which reduce carbon footprint for the £13M, 63 bedroom care home entailing a range of features including; ensuite bedrooms, specialist bathing facilities, hairdresser, on-site catering, private and outdoor space, communal spaces for residents, multi-purpose space, community space and car parking.
The building was constructed to the highest sustainable standards using Passivhaus criteria to deliver an energy efficient building with air source heat pumps being the main source of heating. Main Contractors, Farrans Construction have a wealth of experience within the public sector, the delivery of this senior living care home began on site in September 2021. The building was developed using external brick and a mixture of steel and pre cast elements.
Marigold House opened its doors to older residents in February 2025, replacing the former police station in Leighton Buzzard.
