NUGENT are thrilled to have been proposed with an MEP Contract for the Winchester College Boarding School project, based in Hampshire England.
Winchester College was founded in 1382 by William of Wykeham and is now one of the most distinguished schools in the world. The boarding school currently facilities learning for boys aged 11-16, and a sixth form for girls and boys as day pupils.
The £39 million project will allow for the entry of girls as boarding students, through the construction of new bed boarding houses to fit 120 students. With Gilbert-Ash appointed as Main Contractors, the houses will include single and double rooms, with en-suites, a common room, dining rooms, co-ed study spaces and a spacious courtyard. Installation of a new all weather multi-use games area and landscaping of Kingsgate Park are also included.

The project is targeting BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.
Construction had commenced in April 2024 and the new 2,600m2 boarding houses are due to be open to pupils in September 2026.
