St Ronan’s College originated from the amalgamation of St Mary’s High School, St Paul’s Junior High school and St Michael’s Grammar School. With capacity for 1,750 pupils, the co-educational school will be the second largest post-primary school in Northern Ireland. Teachers and students will share a single building at the new post-primary school.
The new school is being built at Cornakinnegar Road, the former location of St. Michael’s. The £56 million college will span across 20,000m2 compromising of three storey’s in addition to a sizeable outdoor sports pavilion.
The project includes; inspiring classroom spaces, large sports facilities, double-height dining areas, school meals accommodation and administrative support services for the school.
Both the local community and the students will have access to amenities including the sports pavilion with synthetic and grass GAA pitches, football pitch, five tennis courts, fitness suite, music department, design and technology workshops, sports hall and a chapel.
