NUGENT begin our Mechanical works at the new £35M Holy Trinity College, Cookstown

January 18, 2024

NUGENT are pleased to be on board the new £35M Holy Trinity College, Cookstown. The building is 16,000 square metres covering 13 acres across 3 floors. The college will support 1,300 students and staff.

The new Holy Trinity College will be constructed during two phases, phase one entails the construction of the new college at the rear of the current school along with outdoor facilities. Phase two will entail the demolition of the current school and completion of outdoor facilities whilst the students occupy the new building.

The 3 storey building will entail cutting edge facilities for students and teachers including; lecture theatre, muti-purpose hall, integrated canteen with a grab ‘n’ go café, GAA football grounds, multi-use games areas and much more.

Funding was secured in 2013 for the school, as part of the Department for Education’s long term-capital works plan. Due to unforeseen circumstances the project was put on hold, and Felix O’Hare broke ground in May 2023.

Mechanical Contracts Manager, Eamon Holland said, “The new 3 storey modern school will provide innovative learning facilities for the students of Cookstown and the wider area.  We look forward to working alongside Main Contractors, Felix O’Hare who have fantastic experience building educational facilities. Our NUGENT team have a wealth of experience providing Mechanical installations for educational facilities and look forward to being part of the exciting Cookstown project”.
