This week we are celebrating the journey of our employees, who began their career pathway through an apprenticeship. Let’s hear from Aisling and Reece:
Aisling Corr is currently studying for a BSc (Hons) in Business Studies with Ulster University.
At NUGENT, Aisling works as a business support officer, where she supports the company’s marketing activity, helps strengthen brand presence, and contributes to overall business growth.
Aisling joined NUGENT in January 2025 as part of her placement and was later offered a full-time role. Coming from a business background, she had limited knowledge of the construction and MEP engineering sectors; however, her marketing role has provided valuable exposure to the industry.
When asked what advice she would give to other students considering a similar career pathway, Aisling encourages them to embrace every opportunity—whether placements, projects, or additional responsibilities—as each can offer valuable marketing experience.
Looking ahead five years, Aisling sees herself working in a marketing role where she can continue learning and taking on new challenges. Her placement at NUGENT has already highlighted how varied and exciting the industry can be, and she hopes to build further on that experience.

Reece Bell is currently studying for a degree in Building Services with Sustainable Energy at South West College, Dungannon.
At NUGENT, Reece works as a Mechanical Apprentice, alternating between site and office work on major projects.
Reece has thoroughly enjoyed working at NUGENT, highlighting the company’s fantastic team environment and the opportunity to learn from a wide range of experienced professionals.
When asked what advice he would give to other students considering a similar career pathway, Reece emphasises the importance of leaning on the knowledge of experienced colleagues to develop skills. He also notes that college work can be challenging at times, so staying organised is essential.
Looking ahead five years, Reece sees himself still working at NUGENT, having developed significantly in his role and continuing to build both his technical expertise and leadership skills.

Applications are now open for our 2026 intake for students in mechanical or electrical courses, as well as those completing a Higher Level Apprenticeship (HLA). If you’re unable to attend any of the NI Apprenticeship fairs this week, we still welcome applications from everyone. ✅
