Meet Connor McGinty – Contracts Manager at NUGENT

How long have you been with NUGENT?
Connor has been part of the team for 15 months, working in the MTC & Specialist Works division.

What does a typical day look like?
Connor’s day is a mix of coordinating site staff and materials, cost management, and problem-solving on-site. He starts by reviewing emails, programme updates, and site issues, prioritising tasks around live projects. A big focus is managing electrical packages from design through to handover, coordinating with consultants, subcontractors, and main contractors to ensure projects meet standards, stay on time, and within budget.

What project are you most proud of?
Connor doesn’t single out one project. Instead, he takes pride in consistently delivering high-quality results across all projects, transforming early designs or challenging briefs into completed works to a high standard.

Advice for someone starting a career in MEP:
“Understand how systems interact, not just your own role. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, stay organised, and pay attention to drawings, specs, and site feedback. Stay curious—MEP is always evolving with new standards and technology.”

What do you enjoy most about working at NUGENT?
“It’s the people. NUGENT has a supportive, approachable environment with a strong level of trust—no micromanagement—giving you space to grow, showcase your skills, and make a real impact.”
