Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Administrator

Reporting To: Senior Quantity Surveyor
NUGENT are seeking to recruit a reliable and well-organised Quantity Surveyor Administrator to support our Quantity Surveying team on Mechanical and Electrical projects.
The successful candidate will provide essential administrative and commercial support to ensure the smooth running of projects from pre-contract through to final account. You will be a motivated individual with strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
This role can be based in either our Pomeroy or Belfast Office, depending on experience and candidate location (travel to other offices or sites may be required from time to time).
Provide administrative support to Quantity Surveyors and the commercial team across multiple projects
Assist with the preparation, collation, and issuing of subcontract enquiries, orders, and variations for approval
Maintain accurate project records, cost reports, payment applications, and supporting documentation
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors regarding documentation, pricing information, and payment queries
Support the measurement and valuation process by preparing schedules, spreadsheets, and records of works completed
Assist in the processing of subcontractor applications for payment and maintaining payment logs
Help compile interim valuations, final accounts, and cost value reconciliations under QS supervision
Coordinate and file contract documentation, drawings, and correspondence in line with company procedures
Attend internal meetings as required and record actions and follow-ups
Support site and contract management teams with commercial and administrative tasks to ensure projects run smoothly
Carry out site visits where required to assist with measurements, valuations, or document verification
Undertake general office administration duties related to the commercial function
Carry out any other duties as directed by management
Previous experience in an administrative or commercial support role within the construction industry (QS or commercial office experience desirable)
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a busy environment
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work confidently as part of a team
Self-motivated with a positive, “can-do” approach and willingness to learn
Organised and disciplined in planning and approach to work
Ability to follow processes and maintain accurate records
A clean driving licence is desirable
