NUGENT are seeking to recruit experienced Mechanical Operatives to support MEP maintenance works across Mid Ulster and the Derry & Strabane area.

Reporting to: Mechanical Contracts Manager
Position: Mechanical Operative
The role will include carrying out mechanical installation and maintenance works across Northern Ireland on various contracts.
Responsibilities will include:
Carry out mechanical installation and refurbishment works including heating systems, pipework, pumps, valves and plant room upgrades.
Assist with boiler house refurbishments and mechanical plant installations.
Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical building services systems.
Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on heating, plumbing and mechanical systems.
Carry out reactive and proactive maintenance across client sites.
Ensure all mechanical equipment is operating at optimum performance levels.
Assist with modifications, upgrades and new installations where required.
Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and site management.
Take responsibility for tools and equipment, ensuring they are maintained to an appropriate standard.
Maintain good communication with clients and management teams.
Work in accordance with Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures.
Work safely, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of yourself, colleagues, customers and visitors.
Work both independently and as part of a team carrying out planned maintenance, reactive works, repairs and minor installations.
Applicants must hold a full clean driving licence.
Applicants should have a relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, Heating, or Building Services, or be time served within the mechanical trade.
Experience working on commercial mechanical systems is desirable.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Self-motivated with a “can-do” attitude and willingness to learn.
Organised and disciplined in planning and approach to work.
Ability to work confidently as part of a team in a busy environment.
